The State of Montana now offers, through their recently updated database in their Department of Public Health and Human Services site – a robust tool for finding Assisted Living Facilities in Montana.
This search tool will allow you to search for Senior Living providers statewide, and will provide detailed information about each provider including:
- Licensee/Registrant Name (Facility Name)
- License Number
- Facility Type
- Licensing Status
- License Expiration Date
- Number of Beds (Capacity)
- DIRECT Phone Number
- Corporate Offices/Address
- Administrator’s Name and DIRECT contact information
DIRECT contact information is a key feature here, as most commercial Senior Living / Assisted Living sites omit direct contact information for facility listings.
Find Assisted Living in Montana Statewide Using State Data – Steps:
At this time the page looks like this:
To search for Assisted Living:
- Under “Board” choose “The Licensing Bureau”
- Under License/Certificate Type choose “Assisted Living Facility”
From there, select “Continue.”
You’ll then be able to enter the city you wish to search in. You can also indicate the number of rows you wish to have displayed.
From there, select “Search” and your list of facilities for your chosen city will come up.
The initial view shows the list of facilities in your chosen city, as well as the license number, facility type, licensing status, and the license expiration date.
From here, selecting a specific facility by clicking on the name will then display further data about the facility. The data page will look like this:
In addition to the facility data, you can also click on the map link to see exactly where the facility is located.
View Assisted Living Inspections Reports – Montana
You may or may not have noticed a very small link on the Facility Detail page that takes you to the facility’s inspections reports.
Selecting the Inspections link, you’ll be taken to a page that lists all of the facility’s past inspections and complaints reports. The list will look like this:
You’ll see the:
- Inspection Number
- Type (Renewal, Complaint, etc.)
- Deficiencies Cited (Y/N)
- POC Comments
To see details for each report, you can click on the Inspection Number, and it will then take you to a detailed document outlining the Inspection or Complaint details, and List of Deficiencies Cited. The report(s) can be many pages long, but will look like this:
At the bottom of the page, you’ll see the inspection status – whether the facility failed, or passed.
